Festival Overview

The First Fortnight Festival is an annual event that brings together artists, musicians, and performers to celebrate mental health, arts, and culture.

The Art of Light

Light art is a unique and captivating form of visual art that uses light as its primary medium. It can take many forms, from intricate installations to stunning projections. In this project, young people will have the opportunity to create their own light art pieces, guided by local professional photographer Louise Scally.

The Process

  • The project will begin with a series of workshops, where young people will learn the basics of light art and how to create their own pieces. Participants will be encouraged to experiment with different materials and techniques, such as LED lights, projection mapping, and more. Louise Scally will provide guidance and support throughout the process, helping participants to bring their ideas to life. ### The Final Display*
  • The Final Display

  • The finished light art pieces will be projected onto the Templeshannon Community Centre wall on Saturday and Sunday. The display will be a stunning showcase of the young people’s creativity and talent.
