The city of Mt. Pleasant is set to become a vibrant and colorful destination this weekend, thanks to the efforts of Art Reach of Mid Michigan. On Saturday, the organization will be taking to the streets with paint and brushes to bring some much-needed color and beauty to downtown Mt. Pleasant’s street corners.

Project Details

The “Paint the Pavement” project is funded in part by the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Michigan Arts Council, secured by the city of Mt. Pleasant. The event is free to the community, and registration is not required to participate.

The Event Schedule

Time Description
7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Setup time: volunteers will tape out the design on the intersections, haul supplies, and put traffic barricades in place
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Painting time: volunteers and staff will direct painters to areas needed to be painted, fill paint trays, and direct foot traffic
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Cleanup time: volunteers will clean up, put the final touches on each intersection, clean brushes, and tear down paint stations
