It was founded in 2015 and has since become a highly respected platform for showcasing and rewarding contemporary African art

The winners of the 2024 Kuenyehia Prize will receive a share of the $10,000 prize money and also benefit from mentorship, international exposure, and tailored career development.

The prize was established by Professor Elikem Nutifafa Kuenyehia, a renowned art patron and collector in Nigeria, to support and promote African art and artists. When the founder of the Kuenyehia Prize invested just $50 in a painting in the early 2000s, the investment grew exponentially in value, reaching more than $100,000
