A Celebration of Local Talent
Living Arts, a vibrant arts organization, has come together to bring a unique artistic experience to the community – a weeklong series of workshops featuring Tulsa’s talented artists. This series is aptly named “Oh, Tulsa!” inviting participants to express their creativity, with each workshop designed to highlight a specific aspect of local artistry. By showcasing the diversity and richness of Tulsa’s artistic community, the “Oh, Tulsa!” series aims to foster a sense of community engagement and artistic expression.
A Variety of Workshops for All
The “Oh, Tulsa!” series is not just a showcase of artistic talent, but also a celebration of creativity for everyone.
- Participants can explore different art forms, including drawing, painting, and sculpting
- The workshops cater to a wide range of skill levels, allowing attendees to try new techniques and learn from experienced artists
- Each workshop is designed to be a hands-on experience, giving participants the opportunity to express their creativity and bring their imagination to life
Art with a Twist
One of the unique workshops is the 3-D sculptural class, titled “Stick Your Tongue Out”. Designed by artist Tracy Jennings, this class combines creativity with humor, inviting attendees to decorate a hand-sculpted tongue. According to Jennings, the unusual class is not just for fun, but also meant to spark conversation and encourage creative thinking. “What students will do, or attendees will do, is choose a hand sculpted tongue, by me, and they will begin to paint if they want and they can embellish, and this will just be a conversation piece that they can have in their home,” she said.
