Tatianna Mack: A Storyteller in the Art World

Tatianna Mack's journey into the art world began with a second-grade field trip to The Met, sparking her love for art and storytelling.

Her early spark ignited a passion for curating exhibitions centered around Black voices, a mission that drives her work to this day.

Mack's path became clearer during her time at the Tanya Weddemire Gallery, where she assisted with exhibitions under the guidance of gallerist Tanya Weddemire.

Curating allowed Mack to fall in love with storytelling through art, a passion that has become a cornerstone of her work.

As a Black woman in a predominantly white art world, Mack's perspective has been deeply shaped by her experiences and fuels her mission to champion Black women artists.

Mack's first exhibition, I Got A Story To Tell, was a tribute to her maternal grandmother and celebrated the complexity and resilience of Black women.

Feeling isolated in gallery and museum spaces, Mack founded The Art of Tati, a blog that grew into a community and hosts museum meet-ups to foster connection and belonging.

Representation matters deeply to Mack, who created The Art of Tati to let Black and Brown people know they belong in these spaces too.

Mack's creative vision is intentional and layered, with each exhibition telling a different story while challenging stereotypes and broadening narratives.

At the heart of Mack's work is a commitment to community, with emerging Black artists remaining central to her mission and amplifying their voices.
