The Institute for the Creative Arts Student Art Show and Reception

The Institute for the Creative Arts Student Art Show and Reception will take place on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bookish in the Bakery District of downtown Fort Smith.

The event invites visitors to stop by, enjoy the art, and meet the students who created it, featuring a diverse array of artwork created by students in various styles, genres, and mediums.

This event is an excellent opportunity for the community to witness the talent and creativity of the students at the Institute for the Creative Arts, a tuition-free school offering a rigorous college preparatory academic program combined with pre-professional training in the arts.

The school provides students with an immersive experience in performing and visual arts, including music, theatre, dance, visual art, and film, allowing them to explore their creative passions while still receiving a well-rounded education.

The Institute for the Creative Arts has had a successful inaugural year, with students winning several awards for their artwork, including Harper Babb-Corley and Ashlyn Hicks.

Harper Babb-Corley was selected for the Governor's Young Artist Showcase and will be attending the National Beta Club in Orlando in June due to her award at the state level.

Ashlyn Hicks has had her artwork on display at the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, and Riley Babb-Corley has won awards in the Arkansas Wildlife Federation Art Contest and Arts on Main Student Showcase.

The students at the Institute for the Creative Arts have been actively involved in the community through various projects and events, including participating in festivals, receptions, and serving the community through art projects.

Summer programs in digital art and mural design are coming, providing students with further opportunities to develop their artistic skills, and registration is ongoing for the upcoming school year.

Admission to the Institute for the Creative Arts Student Art Show and Reception is free, and visitors can enjoy the artwork on display from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at Bookish in the downtown Fort Smith Bakery District.
