The library is often an underappreciated but incredibly valuable resource in our community. As such, it’s no surprise that the month of April is dedicated to celebrating the many wonders of our public libraries. Library Month is in full swing, and there are a multitude of events and activities that are sure to captivate everyone.
Throughout the month of April, the library is hosting various events, including displays, contests, and movie screenings. One of the highlights of the month is the screening of IndependentLens’ “Free for All: The Public Library,” which celebrates the history and importance of our public libraries.
The documentary explores the evolution of libraries from humble beginnings to the modern institutions we know today. It delves into the challenges and triumphs of libraries as they strive to meet the changing needs of their communities. By sharing the stories of dedicated librarians and patrons, the documentary provides a compelling look at the vital role that libraries play in our society.
Get creative and show off your artistic skills by participating in the library card design contest. This event encourages everyone to express themselves and share their unique perspectives on what a library card should look like. The contest is open to residents of all ages, and the winners will receive a special prize.
