What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It lets a site remember something between page loads — a preference, a session, or the fact that you have seen a particular notice. Related technologies such as local storage do much the same job, and this policy covers them too.

What ArtLien itself uses

The calculators on this site run in your browser. The values you type into the canvas size, golden ratio, palette, project time, and commission tools are not sent to us and are not stored in a cookie — they exist only for as long as the page is open.

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to operate the site: keeping a session consistent while you browse, and remembering that you have dismissed a notice so it does not reappear on every page. If you subscribe to our newsletter, that is handled through the email address you give us rather than through a cookie.

Cookies set by third parties

Some cookies on this site are set by services we use rather than by us directly:

• Advertising.We display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads, including personalised ones where you have consented. Google’s use of advertising cookies is described in its own policies, and you can manage your ad settings through Google directly.
• Analytics. Where analytics are enabled, they set cookies to count visits and understand which pages are read. This is aggregate information about traffic, not a profile of you.
• Embedded content.Pages that embed material from another site — an image source or a video, for example — may allow that site to set its own cookies, exactly as if you had visited it.

We do not control third-party cookies and cannot set or clear them on your behalf.

Controlling cookies

Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block them — for all sites or for particular ones. Those controls are usually under privacy or site settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working as intended; blocking advertising cookies will not.
